BRIEF
Daigo -- a seasoned yakuza member with a youthful history in street racing and too much damn time on his hands -- will be out and about on his motorcycle looking for interested parties to race with.

Starting from just a few interested thrill-seekers, he'll be working to build a profitable racing and high-stakes betting scene.

Original setting engagement comment
Welcoming natives to the world of drag racing is easier than he might have expected. Gambling is something that exists in Sumarlok but not quite like this. It feels almost reminiscent of unicorn races that have been talked about in old texts. For that reason, it draws a decent bit of attention and support from people in the Underground.

Of course, those cars speeding their way through the city don’t get solely good attention. After a few complaints, local law enforcement will come out to investigate. They’re willing to turn a blind eye though for a decent bribe... and inside information on what drivers might be best to bet for in the next race. If anyone asks, they’ll play it off as sanctioned Gembonded activities and let the racing continue so long as no one is seriously injured.

UNOFFICIAL RULEBOOK

You're welcome to wipe out and smash up yourself and your ride, but avoid unnecessary property damage and civilian injury.

Daigo can play bookie for monetary wagers, if requested. Money would be given to him up front, credit is not accepted, and he takes a small percentage of the final pot.

Non-currency exchanges happen all the time. It should be verified that anything you try to wager (cars, bikes, whatever else) isn't stolen in the first place. If you try to move stolen goods through Daigo's established events, he won't be happy about the unnecessary extra heat.

Aside from these simple stipulations: go big or go home.

STARTING SMALL (April - May)
Just a few gembonded making trouble late at night. The sound of tires screeching at high-speed is quite distinct. There are murmurs among the natives about such dangerous driving! The police have heard, but haven't yet been able to pinpoint anyone to speak to. Daigo has a rented garage space where people can network and maintenance vehicles. Vehicles are primarily whatever you can get your hands on. LOG

GROWING UP (June - July)
Interested natives are hearing about the fun via word of mouth and are beginning to join in. Small crews of people are now available to drive ahead and block off routes as racers go by, improving safety but confusing and annoying civilians. There are now enough racers for the police to begin identifying and pursuing them, so you best hope your evasion game is on point. There are more people hanging around the garage including mechanics, part resellers, and customizers. The cap for vehicle quality rises with the interest of mechanics and increase in money. LOG

ESTABLISHED (August - Etc)
There's more than just racers getting together for the rallies now. There's all kinds of retailers and hangers-on who show up to make some money and have a good time. If you see any cops, off or on duty, just let Daigo know. He'll go greet them personally to make nice, slip them their bribe, and let them in on who is gearing up to race. All very large monetary wagers at events hosted by Daigo go through him, and yes he takes a cut. Vehicles are everything from top of the line and fully customized to absolute junkers. LOG

RACING FOR DAIGO
Car or motorcycle, pick your poison. Daigo will provide the vehicle in exchange for regular payments; there's definitely some interest charged for the convenience.

NEED TO LEARN HOW TO DRIVE?
There are legal tracks (see FAQ below) likely to have actual classes on high speed vehicles. Find your track, take some classes, practice a bunch, and then come join everyone else out on the street once you've established good control of your machine. We'll be waiting!

NEED TO LEARN HOW TO MAINTENANCE?
Come hang out at the garage and talk to the other local mechanics. The fuel systems (see FAQ below) are crystal based and run on hybrid solar and electric. It will be a brand new learning curve for everyone. Best to pool knowledge and get tinkering.

Tojo Clan Garage | Named specifically after Daigo's former clan so that any of his men can find him easily. This repair shop will take on any vehicle as a project, but specializes in grounders cars and motorcycles. Is the 'secret' hub for an illegal street racing scene. It's a place to meet up and network, as well as a place to sell off crafting materials for some quick cash. No, they don't care how you got your hands on them. Daigo is always hiring in mechanics, customizers, engineers, drivers, pickers, etc. Join the crew.
